Clear your calendar - It's going down! Fishackathon Vancouver kicks off on the evening of June 5, 2015 and finishes on the 7th. You're invited to take part in the festivities. Vancouver Aquarium (845 Avison Way) is our meeting spot for a weekend of fun and excitement. Come one, come all, bring a guest, and hang loose.

The annual Fishackathon event calls on coders, designers, creatives, architects, product managers, project managers, oceanographers, fishers, ichthyologist, phycologist, algologist, and beach combers from all around the world to come together to create new applications and tools for use on mobile phones, devices, and other end-solutions, which can help fishers work smarter and more safely in sustainable fishing.
You're being asked to develop a solution which addresses one of the four areas which are challenging our fisheries and oceans today. More details can be found here: http://fishackathon2015.challengepost.com
Each Fishackathon host site will nominate a winner using a panel of local judges. Each winner will then be asked to submit a short video showcasing their creation through the Fishackathon website. A panel selected by the Fishackathon partners will review and select two final winners out of all the local winners.
The #OurOcean prize will be a paid trip for two members of the winning team to attend the next Our Ocean Conference in Chile in October 2015.
The Tone/GSMA#mFish prize will be a paid trip for two members of the runner up team who designed a mobile app to attend the 2016 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
